The room thermostat is an electromechanical controller for monitoring the temperature. It consists of a liquid-filled measuring system with temperature probe, capillary capsule and a single relay. Through a temperature change at the sensor you will have a expansion of the capsule via the capillary. This stroke activates a switch which opens and closes the contact.
